This Rhino Series was a quick one that I started to bring awareness to the decline in population numbers seen by rhinos all over the world due to poaching. I had recently read an article how there are only four white rhinos left in the world, and they are all in captivity, so I made a piece titled "White Rhino" out of clear glass that was then sandblasted. This gives it a ghostly look, almost like it's not really even there which foreshadows the soon demise of the species. The "Black Rhino" piece was focused mainly on color and bit applications as well as texture. I decided to mount these pieces reminiscent of the way people mount their hunting trophies. This alludes to the fact that the number one reason of their falling numbers, is poaching for their horns.
